The MATLET Group makes key hire with Ed Wiegand
Pawtucket, RI – January 25, 2012 – Calling it one of the

Wiegand as its new Executive Vice President. With an engineering background and
23 years experience and knowledge of print technologies and digital solutions,
he will report to Gary Stiffler, The MATLET Group’s President and CEO.
Mr. Wiegand joins The MATLET Group after serving as Executive Vice President of

after beginning at Beckett Corporation before it was acquired by Sancoa in 2000.
In 2006, Wiegand was named VP of Sales and managed top accounts that
included Proctor & Gamble, L’Oreal, Johnson & Johnson and others. Two years
later he was responsible for the start-up of new digital business. More
recently, he helped manage the global expansion strategy with the company’s
chairman and led strategy for new developments and technology.
“Ed and I
were introduced early 2011 and I was immediately impressed by his
entrepreneurial spirit and all that he has achieved in his career,” says Mr.
Stiffler. “As the print world becomes further involved in digital technology and
cross platform solutions, his experience - especially with the packaging
solutions side of the business - will prove to be invaluable for The MATLET
Group and its companies.”
Throughout his career Wiegand has been named to
five U.S. patents, and has had strong contributions to digital print technology
developments. He resides on a global advisory council that helps create the
strategies and solutions for the digital print industry. He’s an accomplished
speaker, participating at several Flexographic Trade Association (FTA), Tags and
Labels Manufacturer Institute (TLMI) and Digital Solutions Cooperative (Dscoop)
functions. Wiegand also is a proponent of cultivating higher education talent,
having started internship programs with Clemson University and RIT.
“This is a tremendous opportunity with The MATLET Group. I’m proud of what I
have accomplished in my career and look forward to the challenges ahead,”
Wiegand said. “This is an explosive time for technology and this company is well
positioned for the future. I look forward to help establishing an internship
program at The MATLET Group. Young talent is already pre-programmed and
experienced with the digital world we live in today. This generation can have a
